Two wonderful abbreviations: GIPSI has been there for quite some time, FIG is something I invented totally fresh. Phonetically, both abbreviations seem to suggest something politically incorrect or very improper.
GIPSI describes the sequence in which the Euro countries are gong to fall: Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy. And it looks like GIPSI will actually happen.
FIG is short for the big countries in the Euro zone that are just as bankrupt as the others: France, Italy, Germany. They are the ones that (still) manage to maintain their glamorous facade. Even the greedy world of finances believes it, still lending the ailing society gold. Because FIG is a place where Sun Kings, sorry: Sun Queens reign: a Nicolas Sarkozy, a Silvio Berlusconi and a Angela Merkel.
But hey, the I at the end of GIPSI is the same as the I in FIG! I wonder if GIPSI already arrived in FIG?
