On Friday at 10 o’clock, I have an appointment with my solicitor. I have to register two underwriting submissions. The solicitor’s office is near the Platz der Opfer des Nationalsozialismus.
Consequently, I calculate with one hour for getting there and plan to start at 9 a.m. Since it is only 8, I have a little time left for working in my home office. And all of a sudden, it is 9 o’clock. So I hop onto my bike – at exactly 9.04 hours, I start from the drive of my home at Riemerling Waldparkstrasse.
The weather is fair, there are some dark clouds in front of me, but they are surrounded by blue skies. I ride through Ottobrunn with good speed. Neubiberg lies left of me, I go towards Neuperlach, Altperlach and then I cross the Rosenheimer Straße into the city. Passing the Staatskanzlei, I turn into Maximilianstraße. Then I ride on along the tram tracks, passing Lodenfrey on my way to Bayerischer Hof.
All goes quite well, I reach the solicitor’s office at 9:52 a.m. That means it took me exactly 48 minutes to ride here. Well, I am quite pleased – this is good time I made.
My partner is already there and we have a few minutes left for talking about a few issues.
At 10 o’clock, the document arrives. The solicitor is more or less on time. We need about 60 seconds for the entire procedure, including signatures.
Good-bye solicitor’s office! Now I ride to InterFace. As the GPS tells me, it is only 10 kilometres to Unterhaching. The weather is still quite nice, so what else could I wish for?
So I mount my bike and ride to Brienner Str., through the Hofgarten to Thomas-Wimmer-Ring. On this street, you will find the China travel agency, which is a very small office. In front of the building, I see many boxes and even more Chinese ladies. And the Chinese ladies are busy with the boxes. I cannot see what exactly they are doing and what the boxes contain.
I find it hard to imagine they all belong to the travel agency. In a Germany travel agency, you would certainly not find this many employees.
Another Chinese person, male, holding his cell-phone to his ear (on the picture, you see him on the left side), makes frantic gestures, ordering the ladies this way and that and unfortunately just leaving as I take the picture.
Since there is so much happening on the pedestrian’s path, I take a few more pictures.
Then I continue on my way. I turn left at the Globetrotter (formerly Rieger-Pelze), ride up the Gasteig hill and then enter Balanstrasse.
What a day! For 60 seconds with my solicitor, I get two really beautiful bike rides. There are times when my job is really great …
On Balanstraße – around number 90, there is again something to see.
Some old industrial buildings are being torn down. There is only one wall with a high steel ladder left. Just as I arrive, the tearing down caterpillar starts on this wall.
So here is another opportunity to take a picture or two. And while I take the pictures, the ladder falls down with an immense noise. I feel the floor vibrate – and continue on my way.
I am back at InterFace at 10 – from my short bike journey to see the solicitor.
This is back to normal. Emails, telephone calls, meetings with employees, reports and presentations. At noon, I go and eat some pasta at the “Althaching”.
And then there is an end to another quite banal week.
I quickly file a few memories of the day in the IF blog – and then I go home.
The evening will be spent having dinner with friends and tomorrow, Saturday, there will be a business breakfast for IF AGORA at 9:00.
Well, it was a banal but nice day!
