Again, I am advertising something in the IF Blog!
But, as usual, it is only for something very special: the Arcis-Vocalisten!
Why?
Because their music is extraordinary and singing makes Evelyn (EG) so happy!
(Translation:)
Due to its strong and unique power of sound, which Thomas Gropper and the Arcis-Vocalisten, along with L’Arpa Festante will realize, this Passion is even more moving and intense than other passion works. The passion story with its certainly dramatic content will almost by itself create an imaginary scenic concept where Jesus, Petrus, Pilatus, the Disciples and the people seem to actually perform on stage. St. John’s Passion is the shorter and at the same time more dramatic of the two – the second one being St. Matthew’s – Passions compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. The mode of expression in the choirs and chorals, the story told by the evangelist and in the arias changes between upheaval and hateful outcries, humility and devotion – it is an ageless, exciting and fascinating work.
So why don’t you go and listen to it?
