Our dear colleague Klaus Lukschik-Painter has been an InterFace employee for more than 25 years and is a member of the samba group. Like the “real” Brazilian Samba-Blocos, the “Münchner Ruhestörung” is also politically active. Wherever there is a good cause to defend, they play with extra enthusiasm!
Consequently, Klaus and his “Ruhestörung” have been supporting the work of Handicap International e.V. for several years now. Among other things, this international aid organisation wants a world-wide ban of land mines (Landminen) and cluster bombs (Streubomben). They also attend to the needs of the victims.
That is why the “Münchner Ruhestörung” will make a lot of noise on the Munich “Marienplatz” tomorrow (August, 1st) at 12 o’clock during the Aktionstag. Besides playing to rouse consciences, they also want to raise a little money for the cluster bomb victims. For every one of the estimated 30,000 drumbeats played on this day, they would like to donate one cent to “Handicap International”.
Volunteering as a “drum godfather”, you can, for instance, sponsor half a minute of drum-playing by donating five Euros. Klaus asked me to write about it in the IF blog in order to have as many people as possible sponsoring the event!
And, of course, we support the activity. Donations of all categories are quite welcome – and if you currently do not have much money to spare, do not forget: “Every little helps”. Especially the mostly very poor land mine victims benefit even from small donations.
Here is the action page action page to click on if you want to help!
Of course, I am absolutely opposed to cluster bombs and land mines. All they do is further enhance the perversion of war. So I welcome every donation.
