Another 14 nights before Christmas!
Perhaps some of you feel especially lonely before Christmas. At least, I remember that kind of feeling from a long time ago. There was the early dusk, the long nights in a city that, at the time, was not yet quite so well illuminated. Ice-skating in the Curt–Frenzel-Stadion (that is still its name) did something against the monotony. However, the long walk home in the darkness made me thoughtful, again…
Yes, I believe the “quiet time” is also the “lonely time”. Two songs come to mind that really catch the sentiment of loneliness.
