A most cordial welcome at IF-blog to Dr. Eilika Emmerlich!
I know Eilika Emmerlich through mutual friends from seminars by Rupert Lay we attended together. Eilika was born in 1941, but for me she is a woman who stayed awfully young.
She thinks she is technically sub-standard with computers, because she learned about them late in life. Well, all I can say is, she is quite proficient with wordpress.
But now read her own introduction:
My motto is: there is always something more I can learn. Having been born in Eastern Prussia, gone to school in North-Rhine-Westphalia and attended university in Munich, I am stubborn enough. Now I live in Frankfurt, where I like it very much.
My “problem” is that I am interested in too many things: literature (which is why I first studied philology), communication (my job is in marketing), business “necessarily”, because it concerns us all (I studied economics at FernUni while holding my job), classical music, art, archaeology and, of course, philosophy. That is why I wrote my dissertational thesis earning my degree as Dr. Phil. at the Goethe-Universität with a work on a “classical” Frankfurt topic: „A critical theory and its application in practice – analysis of the work and life of Rupert Lay“. It was published in 2009 as a book titled: „Rupert Lay und die Manager“ (Rupert Lay and the Managers).
My husband is a doctor of medicine who shares my interests. In order to limit the contact with medical doctors to a minimum, I am also very enthusiastic about sports.
Dear Eilika, thank you so much for writing for us on a regular basis in the future. And: I really appreciated your last sentence!
