On the Monday of two weeks ago, we went from Ottobrunn into the city by S-Bahn to go and attend Café&Cosmos. It is a monthly event at the Café Jasmin in the Steinheilstrasse between Maxvorstadt and Schwabing, always on the first Monday. The next scheduled event is early in February. I very much recommend it.
At the Ottobrunn station, as you come from the southern entry at Ottostrasse, there is exactly one ticket stamping machine (on the northern side you will find two of them, as you used to on the southern side some time ago). Except, it is out of order.
On Saturday last week, I am again on my way from Ottobrunn to Fröttmaning to the “Deutsches Theater” by S-Bahn. Again, you cannot stamp your strip ticket. Well, that is six days, which I consider rather a long time.
On Thursday, I go to the “Resi” by S-Bahn. Again, the ticket stamping machine is out of order! And when I went into the city yesterday night, it did not work, either. Now isn’t that a nice way to make friends?
The reactions of the passengers differ. Some of them hurry to the opposite end. Others do not stamp their tickets at all. All of them are annoyed and complain.
However, there are more observations of the same kind. In Unterhaching, the clock at the platform is defunct. And has been for weeks. To be sure, to those who go by S-Bahn, it hardly makes a difference. After all, the trains mostly do not arrive on time, anyway.
So much the more annoying is it that the snow on most of the platforms is no longer cleared away at all. This, too, is a never-ending topic of discussions among the people going by S-Bahn. To make up for it, you meet more and more S-Bahn security. Yesterday, there were eight of them standing around at Marienlatz. They looked pretty well armed and wore martial uniforms. More often than not, they stand around, mostly in a good mood. Once in a while, they control some passengers, but none of them ever feels like clearing away snow.
Incidentally, I do not think there is anybody left in all Germany who is still paid for clearing away snow. Personally, I would probably also prefer receiving Hartz 4. Or else wear a nice uniform and go places by S-Bahn while having nice conversations with my colleagues about all kinds of things. I am sure this is more fun than clearing away snow.
As I see it, we have quite a bit of an imbalance.
Consequently, let me repeat my proposition: why don’t you deposit snow shovels in all S-Bahn stations. Everybody waiting for trains running late could use the time for clearing away snow. I would gladly do my share.

P.S.
Yesterday, on our way back from the theatre after 10 p.m., the display of our S-Bahn train was defunct. Only half of it worked. So we went towards Ayir via Giesi, Perla, Neuperlac. However, I noticed this one S-Bahn train with the defunct display several weeks ago. And that it departed from Marienplatz on schedule and yet was 12 minutes late on arrival at Ottobrunn is basically no longer anything worth mentioning. It seems to be normality.
P.S.1
The picture was taken last year. This year, we have a lot more snow on the platform.
