I like doing things with friends. Playing cards like “Schafkopf” or “Skat”. Or else I join friends for a visit to the soccer game or the theatre. Or I meet friends in a pub or beer-garden. Or I go on a bike trip to the ocean or into the mountains with them.
Consequently, I always try to organize something or other.
I am often a success. It is, however, not always easy to find a complete round for “Schafkopf”. Many people I ask would really like to join us, as I see it they even mean it honestly. Yet they have no time. There is always something or other they absolutely have to do first. And they have no idea how to manage all of it. When telling me this, they sound rather hectic and under pressure.
We are talking the same people who spend more than 750 hours each year in their cars (just do the calculation yourself and you will see how easily that number is reached!). They also always know what was on TV yesterday. And they are as knowledgeable about Lena as about “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”.
They also always know which shop sells the best bargains and how to invest most prudently. And how to optimize your energy and insurance costs. On Saturdays, they have to change wheels and wash their cars. On Sundays, they give their flat a new coat of paint or install the solar collector on their roof. Or else they have to prepare the boat and the camper for the winter. Not to mention that the garden of their second home also badly needs some maintenance work.
The only thing they do not have time for is what they enjoy. Yet it is so easy to have time.…
