The very term is a fraud: it is not a compromise, but an attempt at optimization in favour of economy and state.
I did not understand all this fuss. We have an agreement that has been reached after intense negotiations and written into a contract about the use of nuclear energy in Germany.
Then said agreement is questioned without any real need or new insights, just because a dubious survey was published. Not to mention that this survey, according to everything you can read in daily and weekly newspapers, contains some extremely strange postulations promoted by special interest groups. Besides, it appears that there is no huge difference between using nuclear energy as a very short-term or a very long-term solution.
And then a decision is reached with lightning speed and sold as a political success. And values like dependability or the trust in strategic decisions are abandoned.
Under the circumstances, all you can wish for is that the duration of the Merkel government will develop in reciprocity to the duration of nuclear reactors.
