I do not know if I was a macho in my younger days. Quite likely, I am still one deep inside. Besides, I never gave much consideration to the question if leadership positions in politics and business should be held by men or women.
For me, the women’s quota and similar innovations were evolutionary eccentricities on our unstoppable way towards change. But with each additional year of experience I gain, I also get more and more convinced that:
Our Future is Female
Mind you, this is really what I believe!
The 21st century is the century of women!
Why?
The answer is simple: in the future, egonamia and demonstrations of omnipotency will cease to have any effect as strategical weapons. Our ever so virile “Get-out-of-my-way“ and “I-could-not-care-less-about-the-consequences” attitudes will no longer suffice to make us a success. The era of athletic winning types, functional technocrats and dominant adventurers is closing.
Our society needs new values!
Some of them are tolerance (including non-suffering of intolerance), the willingness to listen, the desire and competence for partnership paired with a readiness to swim against the current if necessary.
To me, all these characteristics look everythnig but male. Humility and empathy, too, are female qualities. These qualities will be extremely important for the development of a humane future.
We need humility in front of Creation, but also for ourselves. Active humility is the only way for us to counter the self-assumed, male illusion that all problems can be solved functionally. And empathy must be lived world-wide if we want to save our planet.
Women have a higher potential for love than men.
Our ability to love will be decicive for our future. Women have a higher potential for love than men. In the movie The Bern Miracle, they say: A German Boy Will Not Cry. I, too, learned it that way. And for me it is irrelevant if men have been thus conditioned or if it is genetically pre-determined.
The power of being female.
Eros and love, however, also mean power. They are the key parameters for the most effective leadership. Managers have to learn love in order to be really successful. And it has been beautifully outlined by Dan Arielly in his wonderful book It Helps To Think, But It Will Still Be No Use! how easily “man” can be manipulated by eros.
Yesterday, speaking as a man, I would have said:
Woe us men if the women realize this power and use their potential for leadership.
Today, I am happy to see women getting under way and surmounting the male dogma of victories and superiority. It can only end in a better future for all of us and promote a development towards a less polarized society with its enormous strain.
So, dear ladies, conserve yourselves and strengthen your femininity! Avoid very consciously displayed virilization, both in thought and action!

Basically, I only know one area into which women (and men) should not let themselves be recruited: wars and armies all over the world. Women should help avoid wars, instead of waging wars.
So here is what I recommend: abolish wars and armies, instead of opening the armies for women. My utopia of a developed world is that we can do without wars and similar nonsense. And I dream of a society without revenge and punishment.
