The Ancient and Logical, the New and Illogical.

Why do so many people refuse to accept change? Some are downright scared of it.
It is probably due to the 3GG by which the occidental way of thinking is determined. The 3 Great Greeks – Socrates, Plato, Aristotle.
Using the technique of logical deduction, syllogism, they
carried logical thinking to extremes – one concept will always mercilessly
be a consequence of another.

Logical deduction works well in retrospect. If you judge afterwards or recognize things after consideration.

When thinking logically, we feel comfortable.

Not so when we think ahead.

When we have to grasp a new concept, something newly perceived – an innovative idea.

What is an idea? There are hundreds of definitions. Here is my personal one: An idea is an idea if it changes the way you perceive things.

Before the idea evolves, there is a long phase during which all you have is asymmetrical patterns that make no sense. They are often hard to bear when leading towards your personal “Heureka”. By others who have not accompanied you during the process and therefore have to start at the beginning.

“Life can only be understood in retrospect, but it has to be lived forwards.” With these words, the Danish philosopher Sören Kierkegaard put the finger right into the hugest of all our challenges in life.

I will post the occasional article on the nature of ideas.
Who knows, may
be they can contribute a little towards healing our allergy against change.
